My wonderful husband and son just walked a mile in high heeled shoes. Walk a Mile in Her Shoes is a benefit for Our VOICE, the local Rape Crisis and Education Center. This second annual event attracted over 300 men (and many women) to walk through downtown Asheville wearing some amazingly creative – and often painful-looking - women’s shoes. They helped to raise $20,000 in the process! My son chose to run as an attempt to come in first and sprained his ankle in the process. His wise teaching to all: "Heels were not made for running." Thanks to all who participated.
