Creator is speaking to me lately, sending many messengers to be sure that I have the clarity I need to take my next step. Last week I took a step that tore my calf muscle and I’ve been very attentive since then, partly because of the pain, mostly because I’m getting the message from a number of directions to ‘pay attention.’
Yesterday I helped build a sweat lodge. As I placed my energy into this turtle lodge that will be home to many prayers and purify the people, I was keenly aware of my own prayers to do my work in a good way. It’s become very clear to me that it’s time for me to lead a women’s circle. And, I’m admittedly resisting a bit as I step forward into this new endeavor.
Today’s messenger came in the form of a Cherokee native. My daughter and I attended Heritage Craft Festival at the N.C. Arboretum this afternoon. As we were watching some Cherokee dancers, I was randomly chosen from the audience to dance with the warriors. Of course, my leg wasn’t feeling very strong, but as I danced, I felt the rhythm of the rattle, the beat of the drum and the power of the ceremony, and I knew that NOW is the time to beat my drum, to dance my dance. It’s this action step that will bring my body into a place of balance and strength.
And so, I’m in process of writing a description of this women’s circle that is coming into being. I’m remembering that fear and excitement feel the same in my body and am choosing for my steps to be strong and sure.
If you’re reading this and can offer some insights and/or encouragements as I take this step, I will be most grateful to you for your support. Blessings ~
